GERMAINE COULOMBE (née GOULET) February 7, 1926 - June 2, 2012 After a brief illness it is with sadness that the family announces the passing of their mother, memere, sister, tante, friend and good neighbour. Germaine passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on June 2, 2012 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 86 years. She leaves to mourn her son Marc and Kathy, grandsons Jeremy, Daniel, and daughter Jo-Anne and Jacques Bradet, and step-granddaughter Danielle. She also leaves her sister Yvonne Rousseau and sisters-in-law Annette et Aurore Goulet, Léa Goulet-Hébert and Alice (Lloyd) Brown, Germaine Coulombe, Noella Coulombe, and numerous nieces and nephews dear to her heart. Germaine was predeceased by her husband Daniel in 1979, son Jacques in 2007, her sisters, Blanche Cormier, Lucia Goulet, Marie-Jeanne Cormier, Rolande Leclerc, Annette and Thérèse Gauthier, and brothers, Philippe, Lionel, Roland, and Léopold. Mom was born in Dufrost, MB. She married Daniel in 1955 and later moved to Winnipeg. She raised her family and resided in her home on Dubuc Street for over 50 years where company was always received with a warm smile and the sharing of a pot of tea and her homemade dainties. You were lucky to visit on the day the homemade bread was coming out of the oven. Mom tended a garden every year and was planning to grow a patio tomato plant this year. Mom would keep busy doing her fine needle crafts and sewing. She always looked forward to spending evenings playing cards with family and friends. Mom recently resided at the Manoire de la Cathedrale enjoying her short stay there, where she could be heard saying to her visitors, La soupe est bonne ici ! The family would like to thank her home care workers and staff on 5E at St. Boniface General Hospital for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at l'église du Précieux-Sang, 200 Kenny Street, at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012, l'abbé M. David Brabant presiding. A private interment will take place at a later date in the St. Malo Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, #6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, or by donating blood to the Canadian Blood Services. • I would like to extend my condolences to the family for their loss. Tante Germaine has a special place in my heart as she was a care giver to our family for a few years. I have fond memories of the many good meals we shared and the visits we had during my vacations to Winnipeg.
