CECILIA RAE SPENCE Cecilia Rae Spence, 49 years, born at Nelson House, MB, July 3, 1962, died on Saturday, June 2, 2012, after a valiant fight with cancer. She resided with her caregivers, Clifford and Dianne Hardy for approximately 32 years. Cecilia travelled throughout Canada and U.S.A. extensively with the Hardys. She was a member of Westwood Presbyterian Church in Winnipeg, and for a short few months with Crestview Park Methodist Church. Everyone she met was her auntie, uncle or friend. She was honoured with an Honourary Membership in the Job's Daughters of Manitoba and received a certificate from Khartum Oriental Band Winnipeg. Cecilia also participated in the Rainbow Walk Group of Westwood Presbyterian Church and worked for approximately 27 years at Versatech Industries, Winnipeg. Special thanks to all her friends, The Grace Hospital Hospice and personal helpers from We Care and Bayshore, Winnipeg. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Westwood Presbyterian Church, Westwood Dr. and Browning Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Rev. Peter Bush officiating. No flowers requested. Donations may be to the charity of your choice. The Special Child The Child, yet unborn, spoke with the Father, Lord, how will I survive in the world? I will not be like other children, My walk may be slower, my speech hard to understand, I may look different. What is to become of me? The Lord replied to the child, My precious one, have no fear, I will give you exceptional parents, They will love you because you are special, not in spite of it. Though your path through life will be difficult, your reward will be greater, You have been blessed with a special ability to love, and those whose lives you touch will be blessed because you are special. - Author Unknown

  • I will always remember Cecilia's big smile If she saw me on the bus, street, restaurant or store she would always say hi Auntie, How is Jackie, her little sister and brother. She would always ask about Jackie's aunts and uncles. God took a special angel and now she is at rest. Rest in peace Cecilia until we meet again. - Posted by: Jeanette Gibson (Friend and Jackie Inkster's aunt) on: Jun 18, 2012

  • Cecelia and I were special friends. She would walk past my house and would stop to say hello to me and my two Schnauzers. Ceclia loved animals and I would let her take my dogs to the park. She had several visits with me at my house and whenever I saw her she would always ask me about my dogs. My sincere condolences to her family and especially Cliff and Dianne Hardy.
