Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • It was my pleasure to serve on the Manitoba Tennis Association Board in the mid eighties when Betty was president. She was a wonderful lady who volunteered to help the Association at a time when it was much needed. Her common sense and expert fiscal management kept things running smoothly and Betty was the face of the Manitoba Tennis Association for many years. During much of that time she also ran the office (on her own) and as I happened to work a couple of blocks away, I have fond memories of going to visit her in that small office with shelves stacked with many years' worth of "Tennis" magazines that stretched back into the golden age of the sport and beyond. Betty, I am so glad I had the chance to know you and work with you. A few special people come into each of our lives and you were one of those people in mine. - Posted by: Doug Stone (Friend) on: Jul 16, 2012

  • I have many fond memories as a junior tennis player of Betty when she was president of the MTA (now Tennis Manitoba). She was a very kind woman whose passion for tennis was evident in everything she did. She will be missed.
