JOANNE CECILIA MALKOWICH (nee MINCHUK) It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, baba and sister on June 19, 2012. Mom was born on July 17, 1934 in St. Boniface and was predeceased by her husband Walter, parents Nick and Mary Minchuk and her brother Tom. Mom leaves to celebrate her life her five sons, Daniel, Ronald (Cindy), Walter (Katrina), Gary and Brian; precious grandchildren Brittany, Addison, Garrett, Harlen, Taylor and Talia; daughter-in-law Maureen; and her sister Kathie (Gerry) Akerstream. Mom is also survived by her sisters-in-law Lovey (John) Kuryk, Augustine (Ed) Konopetcki, Olga Malcowich; brothers-in-law Steven (Joanne) Malkowich, Fred (Shirley) Malkowich and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a constant support to her family and demonstrated unconditional love with every action. Mom told us she loved us constantly and worked hard her entire life, taking nothing for herself while giving us so much. Mom was the glue that held us together through all of life's challenges. Mom's sense of humour and her funny expressions will live on in the memory of her family and friends; she was an angel on earth who dedicated her life to all of us. We would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre (CD4) and the Fisher Personal Care Home for caring for Mom over these last years. You provided her with dignity and kindness. A celebration of Mom's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Ukrainian National Home in Fisher Branch, with Fr. Harry Chuckry presiding. Urn bearer will be her chosen daughter, Joanne Ruchka. In recognition of Mom's life and her love for children, if friends desire, a donation can be made in her memory to The Dream Factory, 303-1 Wesley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C6. They, in turn, will make a dream come true for a sick child in Manitoba. Love One Another, As I Have Loved You.
