January 9, 1937 - June 30, 2012 Peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Wesley Alfred Hart Jr., former chief of Fisher River Cree Nation, passed away at the age of 75 years. Wesley leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Crispina. Wake service will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Deliverance Centre, 1831 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Wake service will also be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Both these services will take place at the Stevens Memorial United Church, Fisher River, Manitoba, with Pastor John McKay officiating. I remember one of my visits when Uncle Wesley sat with me for about 6 hours telling me stories of long ago. One them was about a traditional leader of long ago who identified that Uncle Wesley would be a leader of the community. Uncle Wesley said he was about 6 years of age at the time.
