MORTON PRINCE September 1, 1963 - June 27, 2012 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Morton Prince, 48 years of age, on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 with his family by his side at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Mort is survived by his partner of 28 years Cheryl Wirch, their children Vanessa, Kyle, Cheyanne, Tabitha and Raven, grandchildren Sara, Tyson, Shaydon and Murray Jr. His sister Corinne Prince (Jay), also surviving him are his Aunts Mary and Helen, Tina, Hazel, Donna, Uncles Ralph, David Clarence, John, Tim, and Kelly, his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his Parents Albert and Cecil Prince, his grandparents Ronald and Lena Prince, John and Gladys Kent, his uncles Reginald (Viola), George (Valerie) and Aunt Dorothy, his brother Larry, his sisters Marion and Valerie and his daughter Shaylee, his cousins Vanessa, Ian and Tanisha. Mort was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba. He was raised in Scanterbury, Manitoba until the age of 11 years when he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he resided until 2006. He then returned home to Brokenhead Ojibway Nation with his family. Mort loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, he was a great carpenter and enjoyed working with wood; he loved being outdoors and most of all he loved to fish. The wake service will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 starting at 3:00 p.m., the funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 starting at 1:00 p.m. both will be held at the Bingo Palace with Pastor Tina Leveque officiating. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the care and compassion for Mort, to the doctors and nurses at unit 3 fifth floor Seven Oaks General Hospital.
