Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY WONNICK After a brief battle with cancer, Mary Wonnick (nee Beshta) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Oakview Place Extendicare personal care home. Mary was born May 23, 1924 in Bakofc, Poland and immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1929. Mary wed Ferdinand (Fred) Wonnick April 30, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They resided in Rosenfeld, Manitoba until 1952 and then moved to Pine Falls, Manitoba where they lived together for rest of their married life. In later years, Mom moved to Winnipeg to be closer to her family and the past four years she resided at Oakview Place Extendicare. She was predeceased by her husband Ferdinand Frederick Wonnick on June 25, 1985 and by her parents Jacob and Anastasia Beshta; also by her brother Joesph Beshta and sister Lena Moczuk. She is survived by her sons Floyd (Fran) and Cameron (Adele); two granddaughters Neva (Steve) and Amber (Ryan); one great-granddaughter Mikayla; one sister-in-law Hilda Spicer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was baptized in Poland and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Rosenfeld, Manitoba. Mary and Fred were wed at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Winnipeg, MB. Mom enjoyed the simple things in life like picking blueberries and gardening, and having the family shell peas around the kitchen table. Mom's joy in life was to look after her family and household. She was a great cook. Her old Purity Flour cookbook showed the wear and tear from all the usage. Later in life Mom was the care-giver for her parents. She took them into her home and cared for both her parents until their passing. The family would like to thank all the staff at Oakview Place for their loving care during her stay. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Joy Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at 50 Barnes Street, Winnipeg, MB R3T 4Z7. A Memorial service will be held at Joy Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at 50 Barnes Street, Winnipeg, MB.
