AUDREY LORRAINE WATSON November 24, 1954 - July 3, 2012 With great sadness, our family announces the passing of Audrey Watson at the St. Boniface Hospital after a valiant battle with breast cancer. Left to cherish her memory is husband Darren McFee, children Tyler and Larissa, mother Dorothy Watson, brother Gordon Watson, sister Cindy Ryan, niece Jessica Ryan, nephew Colin Ryan, cousin Greg Pacholek (Mary-Anne) along with many other cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father, George M. Watson. Audrey was born in Winnipeg on November 24, 1954 and raised on Greene Avenue. She attended Angus McKay, John Henderson and Miles Macdonell schools growing up. After high school, she spent some time living in Toronto, before getting a job as a cook at a music/tennis camp in Parry Sound. After that, she took a trip to England and Scotland where she toured the country and met distant relatives. She always talked about trying to go back, but that never worked out. Audrey attended Herzing College, graduated in 1978 as a computer programmer and subsequently worked for UGG and Westfair Foods. While at Westfair, she met Darren and they married in 1991. Not long thereafter, Audrey 'retired' from the workforce to raise her children. This she was passionate about and we can't imagine how the children would have turned out without her support and guidance. Audrey was always volunteering her time at their schools and got them involved in various activities. Audrey enjoyed music, especially when Darren, Tyler or Larissa played a song for her on the piano. Audrey loved her pets. Radar, Shiloh, Bennie and Peta will miss her and those who knew Audrey will remember Jasper, Lexi, Scampi, Chita and especially the one and only Dimai. Audrey enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Belair. Whether reading by the fireplace, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and board games or walking the dogs, it was a special and relaxing place for her. Family gatherings were important to Audrey. No matter who had supper, she was the last one to sit down to eat and the first one to start the dishes. Audrey had a unique ability to bring out the best of people. She got people out of their comfort zone and pushed them to grow. We are all better people for having had her in our lives. Despite having a serious disease, she never lost her positive attitude. She continued to help others throughout her illness, even towards the end. A memorial service will be held at John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Highway, on Thursday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of one's choice.

High school years in school and out were filled with fun, laughter, and many special moments. Audrey was a friend I treasured and seemed we were inseparable as we spent most free time together. A new guardian angel is now among us. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family members. A lesson to all - never wait till tomorrow to reconnect with a friend as time never waits. Karen J. Sherwood Forest Camp at Beausejour and the Corn and Apple Festival in Morden. Our family shared many happy times with the Watson Family! It was through Audrey's brother Gordie and my siblings Duane, Cheryl & Myrna that our families got to know each other.
