Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS EARL ROMBOUGH August 1, 1929 - July 3, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family of Doug Rombough announce his passing on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Shirley (Woodrow) of 59 years and predeceased by his son John and twin brother Donald. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Brenda Hotson, husband Kevin and four grandsons Nick (Tawnya), Jay (Daria), Jeff and Zack. Doug leaves to mourn his brother Bart (Mary) and brother-in-law Allen Woodrow (Marie) and several nephews and nieces. Doug embraced life always with a positive attitude. He could always put a smile on anyone's face. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and an excellent grandfather. He played an active role in his grandchildren's lives from providing day care when the grandchildren were small to being an active hockey fan. Doug retired at the early age of 57 from CNCP Telecommunications where he worked for 35 years. Lifelong friendships were formed and maintained through weekly golf games throughout his retirement years. Doug was able to golf up to the grand age of 80. Doug enjoyed his car trips including driving the 'Women' (Shirley, Kay and Sue) on their weekly excursions to savor the many restaurants in Manitoba and driving anywhere between London, Ontario to Portland, Oregon to support his grandsons' sports. We would like to thank the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Home Care and Grace Hospital staff for their care and a special thanks to Dr. P.G. Mehta for his excellent care and concerns over the years. A celebration of Doug's life will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 2:00 at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Muscular Dystrophy Association. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Shirley and the family. Doug and the rest of us had many a good time on the course at Cottonwood. He was a great guy and always in a good mood. I regret not being able to be losing more dimes to him. He will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Bill Toth (Friend, Golf Buddy, Co-Worker.) on: Jul 09, 2012

My sincerest condolences. Doug was a great guy and a dear friend to my dad Len. I had the great fortune of playing with Doug on many occassions prior to and after my fathers passing. Doug was a joy to know and golf with. He was always happy golfing as he kidded with his friends. We missed Doug at the games when he could no longer join us. We thought and spoke of him frequently wishing he could have still been playing with us. - Posted by: Randy Burkett (Friend and golf buddy) on: Jul 07, 2012
