Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRMA EVELYN BOWLES (nee LITKE) June 2, 1935 - June 30, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Bowles, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Irma was born to Gottlib and Wanda Litke in New Sarepta, Alberta moved to Winnipeg, MB with her family at age 15. She worked as a waitress, was an excellent banquet server and handled many of these events efficiently, also worked in various clerical positions. In 1966, she met Douglas, moved to Brandon in 1967, married in 1974, and together raised their blended family. Upon retirement they moved to a rural setting, north of Strathclair and later moved to the village of Strathclair. In 1974, Irma became a ham radio operator (VE4NZ) this was an accomplishment received with pride, an avid reader and a whiz with crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed many types of handi crafts. Enjoyed camping trips and travelling with the family. Numerous ski-ins and fishing derbies were hosted in the country home, namely the shuzbutt inn . Irma was predeceased by her parents, Gottlib and Wanda Litke and by her brother Adolf, brother-in-law Laurence Granger. Left to cherish her memory her husband Douglas, daughter Teresa (Rob), children Jason (Erin), Jenna, Julia, and their families, stepsons Delwin, Gordon, Tim, and their families, brother Hugo (Iris), sister-in-law Joyce, sister Violet (Gerhard Kriger), sister Margaret Granger, and numerous nieces and nephews. Irma's life was devoted to raising the family. Being a good parent and homemaker took priority in her life. Sadly, the last year she suffered with illness. Her faith was strong and she was ready to meet her maker and reunite with Mom, Dad and her brother. We have loved you deeply and will miss you greatly. A private family funeral for Irma was held at Rae's Funeral Home in Shoal Lake on July 4, 2012. Donations can be made to the Regional Health Authority Box 490 Shoal Lake, MB R0J 1Z0.
