EVELYN CONNELL Peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, Evelyn Connell passed away at Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Johnny in 1995; and by sisters Beulah, Mabel, Lorna, Edna, Ruth, Dorothy, and Betty, as well as her brother Lloyd. Evelyn is survived by her sister Bernice of Pierson, Manitoba, and many other family members across Canada and the UK. Evelyn was born in Melita, Manitoba in 1923. She met Johnny in 1956 and they were married in 1958 at Knox United Church in Winnipeg. Their loving 37 year marriage was filled with many joyous years of travelling to England to visit family and spending time in Melita and Pierson, Manitoba. Evelyn made many lifelong friends during her 42 years working in the offices of Canada Packers. She was also a longstanding member of Rossmere Golf and Country Club where she enjoyed many rounds of golf with friends. In recent years, Evelyn enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends at Betelstadur, her residence since 2001. She was an exceptionally generous woman and constantly spoiled her loved ones. Evelyn will forever be remembered as "grandma" to her many great-nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, with Joyce Allen officiating. Every time you saw me you would ask " hello dear where have you been, I haven't seen you for a while" and I would always answer "working".
