YVONNE BRASCHUK (SOUCI) December 13, 1919 - July 6, 2012 Yvonne is survived by her three children Al McCaughan, Jeanette Lamothe (McCaughan) and Shirley Buhler (Braschuk) and their families. Yvonne spent her early years in St. Francois Xavier Manitoba until she and her former husband Ed McCaughan moved to Winnipeg during the Second World War and had their two children Albert and Jeanette. She later married George Braschuk and had another daughter Shirley. They lived in Windsor Park for many years. George and Yvonne later retired to Penticton, B.C. until George's passing in 1981, when Yvonne returned to Winnipeg. Mother became a health care worker. She and her partner Mike Hnatiuk whom she also survived spent many happy years in Selkirk and at the cottage in Matlock. Our mother was a very private person who loved her children dearly and always had time for them. She accepted us unconditionally and never left us without well intended advice. Mike's daughter Marge Tokar was very special to Yvonne. Yvonne was a very strong, independent woman before developing Alzheimer's disease. She slowly lost her independence and spent her last few years at the Charleswood Care Centre in Charleswood. Our family is very grateful for the kind and compassionate care that Lori and all her wonderful staff gave her. The family will be having a private memorial for her. Any donations to the Alzheimer's society of Canada would be appreciated.
