Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS MARY HANNA July 3, 1922 - July 13, 2012 Phyllis Mary Hanna (Greer), of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Phyllis was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated in nursing from Winnipeg General Hospital in 1944. She married Samuel Gilbert (Bert) Hanna in 1947. Phyllis lovingly cared for her family in both Edmonton and Calgary while continuing her nursing career. Phyllis was a long time member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Calgary, especially enjoying activities with the Couples Club. She also pursued interests in golfing, curling, cross country skiing, bridge and travelling. She is survived by her two sons, Gibson (Kathy) and Clark (Carol), two grandchildren, Alex and Laura, two nephews, Greer Black (Kerry Toll) and daughters Devon and Tallan, and Philip Greer (Ellen) and daughters Jan and Shannon, as well as many other relatives. She will also be remembered by her numerous friends. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Bert in 1984, her parents Mary and Gibson Greer, her sister Margaret Winifred (Freda) Black and her brother Dr. Robert G. (Bert) Greer. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the wonderful caregivers and other staff at Newport Harbour Care Centre where Phyllis resided for the past four years. A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009-15th Avenue S.W., Calgary) on Saturday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Victor Kim presiding.
