ANTONIA YAREMKO (TEPILO)
Born: Nov 27, 1923
Date of Passing: Jul 11, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIA YAREMKO (TEPILO) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Antonia (Toni) Yaremko, age 88 years, on July 11, 2012. Beloved wife of her late husband Adam Yaremko, she leaves to mourn her four daughters, Lynne North (Jim), Andrea Santa (Larry), Grace Yaremko (Brent), Laura Biberdorf (Darren), her eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her sisters Mary Cerkow and Sophia Coiner. Toni was born in Sapton, MB on November 27, 1923. Her parents William and Anastasia Tepilo ran the Tyndall Store and raised five daughters and one son. After completing Grade 11 at age 16, she went to live in Kirkland Lake with her sister Ann and when the War started, moved to Toronto to work. She first worked in an ammunition factory and then joined her sister Sue at the Salada Tea Factory. After the war, she moved back to Winnipeg, met Adam Yaremko and was married in 1950. Mom had a great sense of style, she was artistic and loved to cook and read. She taught us the value of a dollar, to care for one another, the importance of family and the love of good food. She worked hard, managed to save enough to do some travelling after retirement, and was always busy. She made perogies for her church until she could no longer drive, she was always helping one of us, cooking, mending and helping out any way she could. She was very independent, she spoke her mind, had a good sense of humour and loved her family more than anything. Although the last two years have been hard for her, she struggled to remain independent until the end and was so thankful for her family and those that cared for her. We would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Grace Hospice for all their kindness and help. She loved the place and the people and was so grateful her final days were spent there. The Funeral will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. on Wednesday, August 8, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospice Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
