Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA GRAHAM (nee MARTINI) January 20, 1929 - July 18, 2012 Peacefully on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, Martha Graham passed away at Oakview Place. Left to cherish Martha's memory is her daughter Lisa; nephew Don (Kerrie) Mudry; niece Elaine (Orest) Strzelbicki; and numerous relatives. She was predeceased by her son, Lorne in 2001, and her husband, Russell in 2005. Martha will be remembered for her green thumb at gardening, her expertise with a sewing machine (from childhood Halloween costumes to clothing alterations), her knitting and needlework, and her joy of listening to music. Some of her best smiles were when the right music came at the right time. Martha's gentle, caring spirit and silly sense of humour will also be cherished. Special thanks is extended to Dr. Gordon Griggs and the staff at 1 North (Memory Lane) and 3 West (Eagle Way), Oakview Place, for their strong, compassionate care for Mom over the last five years. Unit 3 Coordinator Kendra Manulak and Nurses Evelyn, Tatiana and Tricia were particularly supportive and understanding over the final days. Martha's Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. For those who wish to attend, please gather at the Cemetery entrance gates at 10:15 a.m. A reception will follow in the Wojcik's Reception Centre in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations in Martha's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba would be greatly appreciated.
