Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILLY) MACDONALD Peacefully on May 10, 2012 Billy passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Born in Glace Bay, he was the eldest son of the late Alexander and Isabella (Neilson) MacDonald. Billy was a soldier at the young age of 16 in the Canadian Armed Forces and served in the Second World War. He proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces until retirement. Predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Florence (Lockman) and his brothers, Red and Ralph. Billy will be dearly missed by his daughters, Heather, Valerie (Gerry), Pamela (Murray), Donna (Gary), and by his sons Rick (JoAnn), Will (Pat). His grandchildren, whom he adored and held so very close to his heart, Brendan, Riley, Brooke, Reece and Samantha and his niece Donna (Matthew) and great-niece Ayla. Thank you Dad; for taking care of us always and loving us unconditionally. Billy's wish was to return to Cape Breton and spend his remaining years with his brother, Ralph and to be by the ocean. Wish Granted! We will miss you. A cremation has taken place and a celebration of Billy's life will take place on Thursday, August 2, Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Time of service is 2:00 p.m.
