Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARVILLA ILENE MCKNIGHT Peacefully on July 6, 2012, Arvilla Ilene McKnight (nee Davis) passed away in her sleep at Lions Personal Care Home, at the age of 98. Born on September 30, 1913 at Glasgow Station, Ontario, Arvilla later moved with her family to Glenside, Saskatchewan where she grew up. Arvilla came to Winnipeg as a young woman and, in 1939, married Rexford McKnight. In 1942 they welcomed their only child, Murray. Arvilla is lovingly remembered by her son Murray McKnight of Winnipeg, his wife Lorna, grandchildren Robert, Lindsay and Craig, and her sister Doreen Kralka of London, Ontario. She was predeceased by Rexford in 1986. Always an independent lady, Arvilla was employed by Eaton's, many other firms, and the government. She was also a smart dresser, who favoured high-heel shoes - even in her 80s! Arvilla enjoyed baking for her family and was a very skilled knitter, making dozens of beautiful sweaters, hats, mitts, and scarves for her grandchildren. She also loved to spoil the family dogs, always remembering to bring them a bone when she visited. In summer, Arvilla often spent time at the lake with her good friends, the Harding's. A resident at Lions Place in Winnipeg for 14 years, Arvilla enjoyed the many friendships there and evening bridge and whist games with the girls. Many thanks to the caring staff at Lions Personal Care Home. At Arvilla's request, there will be no service. We will miss you Mum, Grandma!
