STEVE IWANKOW June 22, 1924 - July 24, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce Steve's passing in Kenora, ON. He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughters Starr England (Tom), Carol Wimert (Dave), daughter-in-law Janice Iwankow and grandchildren, Tammy Chabauty (Brian), Corrie Peterson (Bobby), Chris Iwankow (Cynthia), Trevor Iwankow (Keriann), Lindsay Boychuk (Jamie) and Erin Wimert, as well as great-grandchildren Amanda Chabauty, Samantha and Jordan Peterson, Carlie Chartier, Aryanna and Zaiden Iwankow, Marley and Kiarra Iwankow, Brody and Ike Boychuk. He was predeceased by his son Terry in 2010, his parents Nick and Lena, brothers Nick, Pete, John and Mike Iwankow, and by his sister Mary Melnick. Steve was born in Winnipeg and felt his life began when he married Mary Malanchuck. Happily married for 68 years, he loved to travel all over the world and after his retirement from the C.P.R. they spent their winters in Donna, Texas and their summers in Falcon Lake. For the last two years he lived in Kenora. He was greatly loved and admired by his family and friends. A private service will be held for the family at a later date.
