Shunk, 97, of Vallejo, CA died Saturday, July 7, 2012, born February 19, 1915, Gilbert Plains, Manitoba, Canada, to Jacob Wesley and Mary Edith Cason Shunk. He received a BA and MA from Wheaton College, Chicago, Illinois, and taught at Winnipeg Bible Institute, now Providence College, Manitoba. In addition to teaching, he pastored several churches in Canada prior to moving to the United States in 1957, where he completed his career by working as an administrator of Minnesota and California nursing homes. Preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Adelaide Winters Shunk; his brothers, Peary, George and Bill Shunk; and his sister Beatrice Wiebe; he is survived by his wife Helen Narron Shunk of Vallejo, CA; his children, Sharon Shunk, St. Paul, MN, Kenneth (Derrell) Shunk, Stockton, CA, Grace (Dan) Goodall, St. Paul, MN, Philip (Linda) Shunk, The Villages, FL, and Helen Shunk, Bend, OR; his sister Florence Tomlinson-Williams, Stonewall, MB; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
