JASON ADAM DOUCET It is with profound sadness and grief that we announce the sudden passing of Jason Doucet, beloved son, husband and father on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 39. Jason is survived by his loving wife and soul mate Natercia (a.k.a Tessie), son Carson, daughters Jorgia and Olivia, his parents Tony and Ellen, brother Kirk (Patti) and grandmother Florence Doucet, father and mother-in-law Mario and Rose Benevides, sister-in-law Michelle (Chris) and brothers-in-law Steven and Nelson. He also leaves to mourn his passing many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and in-laws. He is preceded by his grandparents Ethel and Stanley Bedosky and Joe Doucet. Jason was an amazing hands-on father. Carson will remember spending time with Daddy at scouts, Jorgia says that she loved laughing and making jokes with Daddy, and Olivia was always happy when Daddy put up the slip-n-slide. As a husband, he was the world to Tessie. Together they enjoyed laughing, good food, and never missed an opportunity to say I love you . Jason was a movie fanatic that loved quoting movie lines or doing impressions to make people laugh, a lover of classic rock and, most recently, a golfer. His family would like to thank Jason's co-workers at Public Works for their courageous efforts and the Emergency Staff at Health Sciences Centre for their diligence and patience. Prayers for Jason will be held at St. Ignatius Parish, 255 Stafford Street on Wednesday, August 1, at 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to the celebration of life at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue on Thursday, August 2, at 10:00 a.m. A private internment will follow. In lieu of flowers an education trust fund has been established at Assiniboine Credit Union under the name of Jason Doucet's Angels. • Tessie, I just heard and I am so sorry for your loss. Jason was such a wonderful person. I remember our days working together and how much fun we all had. He was the kind of gentle, warm hearted guy that always put a smile on our faces with his funny ways! His love for you and your children was always so evident. I wish there was something I could do or say to make things better but I realize there aren't any. I just want you to know that you and your children are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May you find peace in the many wonderful memories you have together. Take care and God Bless. Angela and family - Posted by: Angela Esperanzate (friend and former co-worker ) on: Aug 05, 2012

  • I met Mario and Rose last year when they came to visit Ottawa and it felt great knowing I had wonderful family members in Winnipeg. Both spoke glowingly of their children and grandchildren. While not meeting any of them Terr, my wife, and I are both saddened for Natercia's loss. We are thinking of you and your children. - Posted by: Fil Correia (cousin) on: Aug 02, 2012

  • I remember watching a young light haired gentleman walk up the driveway at Rose & Mario's with a rose in his hand one evening. Then Tess and Jason walk to his car. • Natercia: I did not know your husband but always had the impression that he was very supportive of everything you did, and he was a wonderful family man. You were indeed a close and happy family. I offer condolences to you at this incredibly difficult time. Wishing you all the best and the strength to carry on. Audrey - Posted by: Audrey Young (friend) on: Jul 30, 2012

  • Tess, It was so evident of how much Jason loved and enjoyed Carson, Jorgia and Olivia. On the days that he would pick up any one of them Jason's face would light up as we opened the door for the children to greet the parents. The joy we saw as he wrapped his arms around them and listened to them was a pleasure to watch. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. - Posted by: Debbie Lozynyc (children's nursery teacher) on: Jul 30, 2012

  • Dear Tony and Ellen, Words cannot express the sadness I am feeling since hearing about your son Jason. Tony talked about him fondly when we worked together many years ago. As time goes by, I hope you will find comfort with your memories of Jason and in the future with your cherished moments spent with your grandchildren and your daughter-in-law. Take Care, Karen - Posted by: Karen Zbrog (past co-worker of Tony) on: Jul 30, 2012

  • Jason and I worked together at James Richardson & Sons in the Archives department for about 4 years. It was just before he married Tessie. He was a great guy. Always had a joke to tell and was always willing to help. Tessie, my prayers are with you. - Posted by: Charlotte Raymond (Former Co-worker) on: Jul 30, 2012

  • It is truly with shock and sorrow that I heard of Jason's passing. I gained much in the short time I knew this fine young man. The love for his family was evident at all times.
