I have many fond memories of our child/teen years-biking to Assiniboine park before school, sleep overs, bonfires, the weekly hang out at Polo Park, the way you would laugh when my little sister used to call you Heather Honkins becasue she could not remember your last name. I think one of my favorites was when we slept in a tent in my back yard. We were up at the crack of dawn....the sky was still a grey hue. We were leaping and twirling around in our nightgowns as we knew everyone was still asleep. Later at breakfast my Dad said he heard on CJOB that fairies had been spotted in the Wolseley area during the early morning. We were shocked that he had seen us and a little embarassed too. I wish we had done more to keep in touch after high school. I am sorry that I missed the celebration of your life, but I was out of town. You will always have a special place in my heart. Love you and miss you. Deb - Posted by: Deborah (Sykes) Cielen (Old Friend) on: Aug 04, 2012

One happy memory is from one of the first Pat Beach parties. The mosquitoes were horrendous. Everyone retreated inside. I was determined to stay out as long as I could as it had been years since I had been in the Manitoba outdoors. Hopi stayed with me and we endured the bites surrounded by citronella candles sipping our cocktails until we could no longer endure either. I am sorry I can't be at her celebration of life but I was fortunate enough to see Hopi last week and was able to say goodbye. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. - Posted by: Kelly Moorhead (Friend and fellow Pat Beach girl) on: Jul 31, 2012
