JOAN M. GRANT On Wednesday, August 1, 2012, Joan passed away peacefully in the presence of her family. Joan will be sadly missed by family and friends. Her memory will be forever treasured by daughter Tanis and her husband Craig; son Scott and his wife Hilda; sister-in-law Barb Longworth; and her cherished granddaughters, Hailey, Abby, Nicole and Tessa. Joan is predeceased by the love of her life, Thomas Alexander Grant, to whom she was married for 47 years. Those who knew Joan admired the imagination and grace with which she tackled every task. Whether hosting a party for friends, managing the Birks store at St. Vital Centre, or sewing Halloween costumes for her children, she accomplished it all with style and class. Her greatest gift was the love she shared with her family. She worked selflessly to provide warm and loving home for her husband, children and beloved grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude and admiration to the staff of St. Norbert Personal Care Home who cared for Joan with great kindness during her difficult struggle with Parkinsons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Parkinsons Society Canada. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
