Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE JOHN STEWART Leslie John Stewart passed away peacefully with family at his side on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the age of 85. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 62 years, Mary, their children Anne (Brian), Bob (Leslie), Dave (Joy) and Janet, grandchildren Erin (Clayton), Lindsay (Paul), Tyler (Crystal), Dustin (Leah), Ryan, Angel and Adam and great-grandchildren Makenzie and Kiera. Les was born and raised in Montreal where he attended Loyola College and pursued his early career. He and Mary moved their young family to Winnipeg in 1962. Les worked for 40 years with the Acme Strapping Company where he had a successful career in sales. Both he and Mary were active golfers and long time members of Elmhurst golf club. In retirement, Les and Mary migrated south to Destin, Florida for several winters where they were active in the local golfing community. Les embraced computer technology in retirement through which he pursued his interests in photo editing and international news. Les took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them in the city and at the cottage. Most recently, the addition of great-grandchildren added to his joy and we will cherish our memories of watching him sing, dance and blow bubbles with them just a few days prior to his death. The family is grateful for the outstanding care and compassion provided by the doctors, nurses and support staff of Concordia Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre. Cremation has taken place. Internment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
