LOIS ANN EVENSON (nee McDOUGALD) July 13, 1950 August 3, 2012 After a courageous battle, we sadly announce the passing of Lois on August 3, 2012 at Neepawa Health Centre. She leaves behind her husband Don; children Brad (Joy) Evenson and Tracey (Dale) Schlamb; her five grandchildren Garret, Madison, and Reed Evenson, Audrey and Spencer Schlamb. Along with her mother Merna McDougald; brother Malcolm (Sandy) McDougald; sisters Beth (Brian) Bruce, Laura (John) Burke, Ali (Bob) Schkawritka, Norma (Brad) Collins, Sandy (Shane) Thomas; in-laws Carl (Heather) Evenson, Lynda (Bill) Beggs, Glenda (Rob) Sattler and numerous nieces and nephews. Lois was born July 13, 1950 in Oxbow, SK. The second child to Lloyd and Merna, she grew up in SK before the family settled in MacGregor, MB. After graduating from MacGregor Collegiate and earning her teaching certificate she married her true love Don in 1971 and moved to Neepawa. In 1974 Lois started with the Bank of Montreal where she was a dedicated employee for her remaining 37 years. In 1975 Brad was born and in 1979 Tracey completed their family. Throughout the children's younger years, Lois was heavily involved in their activities, busy with hockey, figure skating, and baseball. As the years went on Lois loved golfing, travelling south and just relaxing on her deck with her best friend, Don, beside her. She also loved all of the time she spent with her parents and siblings and looked forward to her annual sisters' weekend. The joys of her life were her five grandchildren. From the moment she became a grandma she was the best. Lois was a woman who cared deeply about the people around her. She was always the first person to help and always wanted to ensure that the people around her were content and happy. Even her customers connected with her and always loved seeing her smiling face in the bank. She was predeceased by her father Lloyd; parents-in-law Albert and Florence Evenson; brother-in-law Jim Evenson; nephew Neal Evenson. Her funeral was held August 8 at the Neepawa United Church with Rita Friesen officiating. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Palliative Care Room at the Neepawa Health Centre. White's Funeral Home Neepawa in care of arrangements. Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near, Loved, missed and always dear.
