JOHN WILLIAM MOORE September 1, 1922 - August 2, 2012 Peacefully on August 2, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre, Dad joined his loving wife Doreen. He is survived by his son Brian, wife Virginia (nee Nahuliak); four grandsons: Sean (Tess, nee Corpuz) Moore and children Kyle, Chantelle; Jay (Amanda, nee Gervais) Moore and children Kalobe, Keara, Rheanne; Joe Moore; Charles Moore; his sibling Don (Lorraine) Moore of British Columbia. Jack was predeceased by his wife Doreen (Lovell); his parents John and Nancy (nee Pinkerton) Moore; his sister Mary Moore. John, known as Jack or Snowie to family and friends, was born, raised, enlisted, worked, retired..all in Winnipeg. He married Doreen Lovell during the Second World War while serving in England. He worked for the Manitoba Power Commission (Manitoba Hydro today) in Brandon on his return from the war. Hydro transferred him home to Winnipeg in 1962. When he retired from Hydro he went to work for his brother Don at Columbia Containers in Vancouver. After a few years they moved to Sidmouth, Devon near where she was born in Ottery St. Mary. Doreen died within a couple of years (1988) and he continued to live there, returning to Canada in 2011. He resided at The Portsmouth Retirement Residence near his family until his death. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at The Portsmouth; Veterans Affairs; Winnipeg Home Care; his doctors, Dr. W. Bishay and Dr. S. Silver In keeping with Dad's wishes his cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. God knew he was suffering He finally closed his weary eyes And whispered, Rest in Peace . We will always love and cherish his memory. Sometime, someday, we will meet again.
