EARL HAGMAN 1935 - 2012 It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Earl Bradley Ernest Hagman on August 3, 2012 in Markham, Ontario at the age of 77 years. Earl will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his loving wife Patricia, of 53 years; his children Jeff (Lori), Dean (Eugene), Erik (Andrea), Brett (Amber); grandchildren Adara, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, James, and sister Sharon (Jean). Earl was predeceased by his parents Ernie and Ella Hagman. Earl was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He spent his early working years in partnership with his father operating the Hagman's Handy Hardware Store in St. Vital until 1969 when the family business closed. Being the people person that Earl was he enjoyed his managerial positions he held at Dakota and Saratoga Bowling Lanes as well as the Bonanza Restaurant Chain. In 1972 Earl desired new challenges and became an independent sales agent for the John A. Houston Company. While working for the John A. Houston Company Earl was approached by Leviton Manufacturing to represent their line of electrical products as an independent sales agent. Earl graciously accepted and in 1976 started his own agency called Elod Holdings which covered the Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwestern Ontario territories. Then in 1980, Earl was hired as an employee by Leviton where he worked as a Territory Manager until his retirement in 1996. After marrying his sweetheart in 1958, Earl and Patricia lived in St. Vital where they started their family. In 1972 they relocated to Springfield, Manitoba where they resided for 38 years before moving to Markham, Ontario in 2010. Family came first for Earl and he performed many selfless acts for his children. Selfless acts like driving to every country fair in Manitoba to support Jeff and Dean's novelty balloon business, or driving Erik and Brett to 6:00 a.m. hockey practices. Earl enjoyed the outdoors with his family. Whether it was walking two miles down the Pine River in chest waders to catch that elusive trout or taking the boys goose hunting at 5:00 a.m. with boots so heavy with mud that you could barely walk, it didn't matter as long as everyone was together. Earl loved gardening and grew the most beautiful roses as well as made the most delicious homemade wine from his apple orchard. Earl was a kind and thoughtful husband to his beloved wife Patricia. They were not just husband and wife; but best friends. They did everything together; from cooking fabulous family dinners to traveling to the United States and Europe. The memories of Earl are endless and will always be in our hearts. We will miss his adventurous spirit, sense of humour and kind heart. The family would like to say a special thank you to all their friends and family for their love and support during this time. A memorial service to celebrate Earl's life will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Canad Inns - 826 Regent Avenue West - Ambassador Room B and C - Lower Level (elevators are available).
