PETER WALKER April 30, 1937 - August 8, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Peter Walker on August 8, 2012. Peter will be remembered as a loving father, Grandad and great-big-Grandad . He will be missed by four generations of family in Scotland and Canada. Left to cherish his memory are his children David Walker, Gavin Walker (Lori), Glenda Shiells (Dean), Karrol Bachmann (Andy), Sue Walker (Greg Lyon), Elaine Nickel (Dave), Fiona Desmet (Randy). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Iain Shiells (Jennifer), Keegan Walker, Stuart Shiells, Aaron Bachmann (Jenna), Terryn Shiells, Jenna Yutzy (Skyler), Jaymie and Jennifer Walker, Nolan Bachmann (Tara), Eric Desmet, Lindsay Walker, Bradley and Andrea Nickel. Peter was also blessed to share his life with his two great-grandchildren, Landon and Aiden Shiells, who gave him the nickname great-big Grandad . Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret Walker, son Terry Walker, parents David and Catherine Walker, and siblings Melvin Walker and Sheila Martin. He was a very active member of the community in Windsor Park, helping out at his grandchildren's schools and lending a hand to his neighbours whenever they needed help. Grandad loved to be outside. His grandkids bugged him because he always had the perfect tan in April since he spent so much time outside walking, gardening, biking and helping his neighbours with yardwork. He had a bright personality, and always had a smile on his face. He would talk to anyone and everyone, and was always a party favourite. Peter made so many good friends in his lifetime and will be greatly missed by them and all of his neighbours in Windsor Park. The family will be holding a service to remember and celebrate Peter's life on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive in Windsor Park, at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to CancerCare Manitoba. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Peter was an absolute wonderful person. He was truly the best kind of neighbour one could ask for. Whether he mowed the neighbours lawn, cleared snowy driveways early morning, carried trash bins to the end of the drive, picked-up mail or kept a watchful eye over his neighbours property, Peter was always happy to help out wherever and whenever he could. His strong Scottish accent, friendly smile and welcoming wave will be truly missed. My deepest sympathy to all of his family. - Posted by: Julie Gamache (née Rochon) (Neighbour/friend) on: Aug 15, 2012

Peter, will be deeply missed. He was a wonderful man and an awesome neighbour. He always took care of us and our yard! He always spoke so highly and loving of his family...it was an honour to have been his friend and neighbour. - Posted by: Marie Manimtim (neighbour/friend) on: Aug 12, 2012
