JEAN FISHER Peacefully on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 Jean, at the age of 88 passed away at the Grace Hospital with her daughter by her side. Left to cherish Jean's memory are her daughter Jacqueline (Gordon); granddaughters, Tracy (Jason, Luke, Shea, Rhett) and Christa (Rob, Brock, Braydi); in-laws Bertha, Eliza, John and brother Helmet and sister Marmene. She was predeceased by her husband Jack Fisher, and parents Edmund and Albertina Shroeder. On December 8, 1923 Jean was born in Poland, immigrating to Canada at an early age. The family settled in Openshaw, SK where she was educated and remained until 1938. At this time they moved to Rossendale, MB where she later met and married Jacob (Jack) Fisher in 1945. The couple remained there farming until 1975 when they moved to Portage La Prairie and retired. In 1992 they moved to Winnipeg to be closer to their daughter and granddaughters. Jean was a member of Ruth Rebekah Lodge in Portage, was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening, curling, golfing, camping and fishing. She was happiest helping her friends and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. A private family Service was held on Thursday, August 9, 2012.
