Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRAYCE MARIE RAY (nee CASSIDY) Grayce Marie Ray (nee Cassidy) died peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, in Fargo, North Dakota on August 15, 2012 at the age of 73. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Grayce's life spanned several careers across half a continent. She began as an educator, teaching English at both Shanley High School and Moorhead State University, but she was also an award-winning journalist for papers from North Dakota to Virginia whose research included skydiving and spending a night in jail. She was a published poet and coeditor of Dakotah Territory. Actress, mother, and crusader, Grayce was fearless in her dedication; her final act was corneal donation. Grayce is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Riemerman; her three children, Allison Campbell, Sean Ray, and Hilary Ray; her two grandchildren, Evan Ray and Margaret McKenzie-Ray; and numerous dear friends. Grayce's life will be celebrated in a service at the Congregational United Church of Christ (217 4th St. NW, Valley City, North Dakota), at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. The family encourages contributions to the American Indian College Fund or Foster Care to Success in lieu of flowers.
