NELLIE BURDENY On August 19, 2012, Nellie Burdeny of Winnipeg, MB, passed away at the age of 91 years at her residence at Beacon Hill Lodge. Nellie was born on September 14, 1920, in Ethelbert, MB, daughter of Hnat and Maria Burdeny (nee Konowalchuk). She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters and their spouses, Anne and Paul Linard, Helen and Mike Charpun and Elsie and John Oleksiuk; three brothers John, Max and Dmitro; three sisters-in-law, Victoria (Dmitro) Burdeny, Elsie (Walter) Burdeny and Anne (Maurice) Burdeny; and niece Linda Barabash. Left to mourn and cherish fond memories are two brothers, Walter Burdeny of Winnipeg and Maurice Burdeny of Edmonton and nine nieces and two nephews. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
