EDWARD (EDDIE) ALBERT MAZA July 23, 1933 August 22, 2012 Peacefully at the Selkirk General Hospital, Edward Maza passed away. Eddie was predeceased by his parents Alexander Maza and Mary Panchyshyn Maza Kishka, his stepfather John Kishka; brother John Maza; sister Evelyn Maza Maguire and his niece Beverly Maguire Trimbee. Eddie will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Mary (Marion) Maza; brother-in-law Melford (Mel) Maguire, Aunt Frances Panchyshyn; nieces Barbara (James) Marshall, and Gloria Maguire; nephews Perry (Patti) Maza, Gerald, Barry (Maureen) and David (Joanne) Maguire; and numerous cousins, great nieces, nephews and friends. Eddie was born in Winnipeg and spent his early years on the family farm in Oakbank. He moved into The North End of the city when a young student and lived on Dufferin Avenue for the rest of his days. Eddie worked as a bartender at the Nanking Restaurant and at the Delta Inn. He was a very social fellow who made friends easily and enjoyed the company of his many pals at his local The Royal Canadian Legion No. 141. Eddie was a avid bowler who won many trophies. His main activity during the summer was working on his huge vegetable garden. He took pride in his organic garden and composting efforts, and he was very generous at harvest time when he shared produce with family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with visitation one half hour prior to the service, officiating clergy Fr. Isidore Dziadyk. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the very dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre, Geriatric Division Area 6, with special thanks to Dr. Natalie Antonenko; Selkirk General Hospital; Seven Oaks General Hospital and The Mount Carmel Clinic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Selkirk Mental Health Centre, Geriatric Division, the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
