I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Gil's family and friends at this difficult time of grieving. I came to know Gil through my father Roland Henault, who has the hangar a couple of doors down from Gil's at Lyncrest. Gil was always most welcoming and pleasant, and once let me fly his Champ solo. I always knew him as a caring and gregarious man who loved flying, and gave a tremendous amount of himself to maintain the facilities at the airport at Lyncrest. I also know how proud he was of his airplane and his family, particularly his grandkids who often accompanied him to the airport. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, and will always be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather and aviation enthusiast. My heart goes out to the Bourrier family. May Gil rest in peace. Ray Henault, Gen (Ret'd) - Posted by: Ray Henault (Friend) on: Sep 03, 2012

News of Gil's passing spread quickly to us here in Nova Scotia and we instantly recalled and reflected on the many times we enjoyed and benefited from his caring efforts to help anyone in need around the Lyncrest airport. Gil was always the first to lend a hand and was a great example of what it means to be a member of a Club supported by volunteers. He was a real leader who will be fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know him. Our heartfelt sympathies to the Bourrier family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Jack & Lianne Neima (Springfield Flying Club) on: Aug 29, 2012

I met him through his mom at Foyer Valade. A very kind man I enjoyed having a conversation with him and he made the point everytime to say "hi" if he saw me down the hallway. A great man who will be missed! My sincere condolences to the family. - Posted by: private () on: Aug 27, 2012

Like us, Gilbert left a lasting impression on his former Lorette neighbours of a guy who always had a ready smile, laugh and enjoyable conversation. His patient and understanding demeanour commanded respect among the neighbourhood children (at the time) as Aaron always referred to him as Mr. Gil. Pat & I will always treasure our recent encounters with Gil & Gisele at Club Regent and the chit-chats we had. Our condolences to you Gisele and Ginette. - Posted by: Lionel & Pat Bernier (Friends & Neighbours) on: Aug 27, 2012

Deepest condolences to Gil's family. Gils was a co-worker at Northeastern Aircraft. He was a gem of a man. A real artisan. He had a true passion for building and fixing. And, he did so always with a smile on his face. Even though we didn't see each other often, it was always such a pleasure to reconnect with him. The world has lost a great man. We'll miss you Gil. magoo - Posted by: Mike Magill (Friend) on: Aug 26, 2012

Gil to me was always someone you could trust to help you. A fun guy to be around and a great brother to my good friend Boots. I was always wanting to see him again that will never happen and it will be a void in my life forever. Gil see you in heaven. Your wings are forever now.
