HAROLD EDWARD (TED) VIKLUND
Born: Jan 21, 1936
Date of Passing: Aug 18, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD EDWARD (TED) VIKLUND January 21, 1936 - August 18, 2012 Peacefully, our beloved husband, father and B.D. (Big Daddy) passed into the arms of Jesus. Respecting his wishes, no formal service will be held and the family has observed a private remembrance of his life. Ted was gifted with many talents and enjoyed building and working with wood, golf, bridge and lately the most difficult Sudoku. He truly enjoyed the challenge of fixing anything broken or in need of repair. Thanks so much for all who prayed and offered support throughout his illness. Special thanks to the caring staff at Health Sciences ICU and Victoria Hospital. If so desired, donations in Ted's memory may be made to the Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Agape Table. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord turn His face to you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 Thomson In the Park Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Very sad news about Ted's passing. My condolences go out to Ted's family and friends...he will be sorely missed. I, too, recall great stories of Ted during his time at IBM. What I will never forget is Ted's smile, his stories and his laughter. Those are the clearest memories for me and those I'll cherish. God bless you my friend...go in peace... - Posted by: Kevin Martin (Friend) on: Sep 05, 2012

We were so shocked and saddened to read about Ted's passing. We, the IBM pensioners at the monthly get-together had missed Ted without knowing of his illness. Our thoughts are with you, Dear Regena and Miles and Shawn. Ted was always a good buddy and helper and assistant and thought-after for his IBM knowledge. And we know that he enjoyed the golf tournaments and he helped setting up the picnic in the Highland Park on Henderson Highway close to his home. We could count on him bringing the BBQ for the German Bratwurst which he liked very much. I remember one Labor Day tournament at the Falcon Lake golf course. The big Kenora 8 forest fire was burning and the area was filled with the smoke. The campground was officially closed. Only a few straggler tourists besides the golfers had pitched their tents or campers. Our "roasting-of-the-managers" was a noisy affair which somehow annoyed the park warden. He came to our happy, loud laughing group and talked with Ted, who then had to announce that we would be send fire-fighting if we would not shut up immediately.... The result was dead silence as we quietly retreated into our tents and campers. Ted will be missed and never forgotten. I still can't believe he's gone...I love you Big Daddy.... God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you, And whispered “Come to me”. With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. - Posted by: Amanda (Grand-daughter) on: Aug 29, 2012
