Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROL KRYSOWATY (HACKING) (nee PARKER) Sadly on Thursday, August 23, 2012, Carol Krysowaty passed away with her family by her side after a long courageous battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her husband Frank; children, Kim (Tony), Glenn (Linda) and Jeff (Candice); grandchildren, Jarrod and Tamara; mother Helen; brothers, Alan (Deanna) and Bob (Charlene); her sister Linda (Don); stepchildren, Debbie (Len), Ron (Darlene), Rick (Kim) and Cheryl (Pat); step-son-in-law Kevin and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, step-great-granddaughter and friends. Carol was predeceased by her father Jim and her stepdaughter Donna. Carol was born on July 4, 1945, in Winnipeg where she spent her childhood years. She later moved to Selkirk where she started her family. She graduated as an LPN from Red River College and did her practicum training at Victoria General Hospital. On July 28, 1978, she graduated first in class and received a gold medal for her academic achievements while raising her three young children on her own. Carol then started her nursing career at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg where she worked for 22 years until her retirement in 2001. She often spoke fondly of the residents and their families during her years there. Carol met the love of her life Frank in 1999. They moved to Sandy Hook in 2001, where they settled into their new life together in the country. She took pride in her garden, yard and flowerbeds which made a beautiful backdrop for their wedding on August 23, 2003. Carol was a kind, loving, beautiful person who welcomed anyone and everyone into her home. Her childrens' spouses and friends always felt accepted, loved and a part of the family. Carol was very caring and generous and always put others before herself. Known for her witty comments and sense of humour she was always cracking jokes and the life of the party. Her smile would light up the room and she touched the hearts of everyone that knew her. Even when Carol was going through the most difficult time of her life she was still an inspiration to other families dealing with cancer. In keeping with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, MB, on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. Our family would like to express appreciation to CancerCare, Gimli Community Health Centre, Palliative Care, nursing and kitchen staff. When I think of Carol I think of an accomplished, intelligent, smart caring person. I remember how she lovingly cared for the residents entrusted to her care at Middlechurch Home. When you walked on to the unit where Carol was working you could feel the positive energy and she always had time for a little chat and of couse a good laugh. Carol touched the lives of many, I know she did mine. I send my most sincere condolences to Carol's husband and children, she always spoke so well of her family. Rest in Peace Carol. - Posted by: Marilynne Dvorak (former co-worker) on: Aug 29, 2012

We will fondly remember Carol for her wonderful smile, her warm laughter and most of all her ability to make you laugh. She was our neighbour for many years and there were alot of great memories made during that time. She was a great lady and a dear friend who we will miss terribly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family whom she cherished with all her heart. - Posted by: Al & Sue Stutsky (Long time Friends) on: Aug 28, 2012

Carol was such a fun person to be around, I have to admit, she could be the funniest. We went to Florida for 2 weeks I never laughed so hard in my life. She was a caring special person. My thoughts are with her family at this time, she was far too young for this to happen. - Posted by: John & Laurie Kuivenhoven (Friend) on: Aug 27, 2012

Kim and family. I was so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I worked night shifts at MiddleChurch many years ago with her and remember the fun times and laughs we had. We would all pile into her little car and brave blizzards to travel down highway 9 to work. Lots of good memories. Sending hugs and good thoughts to you.
