Mom had a huge passion for Bingo and really missed being able to get out to play. She was unbeatable at checkers and loved to play and beat us at rummy. Mom had a great talent for knitting and crocheting, creating wonderful afghans, scarves, toques, doilies and dishcloths. Cooking traditional Mennonite fare was another talent of Mom's and how the grandsons from Alberta especially loved her Hons Broden, Bubbat and Schmont Phat. We all loved her Roll Kucken and Glums Wareneki. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Selkirk and District General Hospital for all the kindness shown to Mom and to the family. Also thank you to Dr. Margaret Speer for her care given to Mom, thank you to Pastor Lewis and Abe Reimer for ministering to Mom in her final hours. Mom fought a valiant fight, never complaining as she knew her faith would sustain her. Thank you to all who visited her in the hospital and at home. Viewing will be at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Winkler Mennonite Church with interment to follow at the Winkler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made in Anna's memory to either the Lung Association or to CancerCare Manitoba, both available at the church. There is no disappointment in Heaven, no weariness, sorrow nor pain. Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler In care of arrangements, 204-325-4201 wiebefuneralhomes.com
