Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • I have known Mr. Bowes my entire life. There have been hundreds of memories that he has been a wonderful part of and I am sooooo sorry I missed this. Verna and Cliff were longtime friends of my parents and have been more than family to me over the years. My heart, love, and cherished memories of Mr. Bowes will forever be one of the best parts of my life. I will miss him greatly. A kinder soul was only matched by Mrs. Bowes. Love, Hugs and greatest sorrow at his passing. Patti Hanney (Flockton) - Posted by: Patti Hanney (nee Flockton (Friend of family) on: Dec 10, 2012

  • Cliff and Verna... what a pair. Love was never so easily visible as with these two. My heart aches thinking of the loss Verna must feel without Cliff there. I hope she can feel the hugs I am sending her. Cliff was a strong, quiet man. He didn't say much, but when he did, it had great value and wisdom. I always enjoyed conversations with him for this reason. His love for Verna and his family was true and fierce. There are no other words for it. Life did not go the way Cliff and Verna had planned in the later years... but they made the best of it. I am saddened to hear of Cliff's passing... but know his physical pain has ended. For that, I am thankful. I send out the warmest of hugs to all of his family, especially Verna. Know that I am thinking of you all as you walk this journey. xxxooo - Posted by: Georgina Knight (former Recreation Facilitator at Meadowood) on: Oct 24, 2012

  • I will remember Cliff as one of sweetest men. He always came to visit Nana when we were at her house in the summers. I don't think I ever saw him without a huge smile on his face. Thinking of your family and Cliff today. Love Aynsley - Posted by: Aynsley (Griffith) Wennberg (cousin) on: Aug 30, 2012

  • I was deeply saddened to hear from my mother (a first cousin of Cliff's) of Cliff's passing last week. He was truly a gentle, gentleman, and I can't think of a more genuine person with each interaction during family gatherings over the years. I can still hear him say "that's just terrific", with a comforting voice and a warm smile. I will always remember Cliff. I will be thinking of his immediate family tomorrow and sending much love and hugs. Love, Kyra - Posted by: Kyra Griffith (Cousin) on: Aug 29, 2012
