Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAGNES ISABEL HARRISON Our family is greatly saddened to announce that our Mother and Grandma, Isabel Harrison, died peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital on Thursday, August 23, 2012 following a brief illness. Isabel is survived by her three children, Patrick (Diane Williams), Lynne (Ron Banister) and David (Sigrid Isford) and six grandchildren Cody, Shannon, Lucas, Hailey, Daniel and Ben as well as many nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Fred Harrison, her parents Annie and Willy Livingston and her brother Rodger Livingston. Isabel was born in Winnipeg on July 29, 1918. She and her family lived in Winnipeg's West End on Victor Street and she attended John M. King, General Wolfe and Daniel McIntyre Schools. She enjoyed music throughout her life and at school participated in choirs and operettas. Following high school she completed a secretarial program and worked for a number of businesses including Price Waterhouse Co. where she met her husband. Isabel and Fred were married in 1950 and lived in Montreal and Edmonton before settling in Winnipeg in 1954. Isabel's first child was born in 1953 and from that point onward family became the focus of her life. Isabel was a devoted mom, creating a warm and loving home on Cambridge Street in River Heights for her husband and three children. She and Fred also built a summer home at Victoria Beach so that their children could always enjoy a sunny and fun-filled summer and the cottage continues to provide great pleasure to all her children and grandchildren. For many years Isabel was also a faithful member of St. George's Anglican Church, walking to and from the church most days and assisting with the church's financial records and service groups. In her spare time when she wasn't helping or serving others Isabel enjoyed travelling to many places including trips to Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Europe, the music of Oscar Peterson, knitting, watching and feeding the birds in her garden, a visit to Salisbury House and ice cream (anytime!). Following the death of her husband in 2004 Isabel lived alone for a short while before moving to live with her daughter Lynne and her family. She continued to take great pride in her children's careers and accomplishments as well as a keen interest in the lives and activities of her grandchildren. Isabel was a gentle, kind and humble person who lived a full, healthy and happy life devoted to her family and to her church. In accordance with Isabel's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. George's Anglican Church (Crescentwood), 168 Wilton Street with interment at a later date at St. John's Cathedral cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined but if family or friends so desire donations may be made to St. George's Memorial Fund, 168 Wilton Street.

"Auntie Isabel" will be sorely missed, and my deepest condolences go out to Pat, Lynne, David and family. Visiting the cottage at VB certainly won't be the same without her. I had no idea she was an Oscar Peterson fan, and so well travelled! What a wonderful lady she was. I will especially miss her humble, soft-spoken and smiling nature. - Posted by: Paul Ruban (Extended family) on: Aug 31, 2012
