KATRIN (KAY) METCALFE January 7, 1927 - August 28, 2012 Peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, Kay passed away at Oakview Place Personal Care Home, with her daughters by her side. Kay is survived by her four daughters, Kerry, Wendy (Marv Snider), Nancy and Jill (Daryl Hooke); and by the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Alexa and Ben Hooke. She was predeceased by her husband Garth in 2008. Mom grew up in Riverton with her parents Eysteinn and Helga and brother Jon. She moved to Winnipeg when she was 16. She and Garth were married in 1948 and spent almost 60 wonderful years together; most of them at 333 Rita, a house many called home. Mom was never happier than when sitting in her living room or at her dining room table surrounded by family and friends. Mom was a proud charter member of PEO Chapter N and received her 60 year pin this past spring. PEO was a very important part of mom's life and her best friends were always her PEO sisters. Since November, 2011, mom was a resident at Oakview Place and we cannot say enough about the wonderful care she received from the exceptional staff on One East. You are our heroes! On Tuesday, September 4, 2012, Kay's Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue. To all of our friends who are too numerous to be mentioned individually; you know who you are and we cannot thank you enough for your kindness, caring and support over the years. You are forever in our hearts! If desired, donations can be made to Oakview Place, 2395 Ness Avenue R3J 1A5 or to Winnipeg Foundation (direct donation to: Manitoba PEO Foundation), 1350 - One Lombard Place. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements. Goda nott elskan
