Dorothy was predeceased by her mother Olive and father Norman. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 39 years Winston, beloved children, son Tony (Cheryl), daughter Jackie (Lou), son Fred (Cathy), stepsons Ian (Jackie) and Andrew (Sharone), grandchildren Genevieve, Brittany, Elissa, Kiah, Anthony, Tianna, Zion, Tiandra, Savanna, Leah, Jaquayne, Shalom and Alexandra. She also leaves behind her sisters Peggy, Gloria, twin sister Bernice (Sissy), Nellie, Jean, brothers Norman and Anthony. Special nieces Carol and Georgette, many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends too numerous to mention. Mom immigrated to Toronto from Jamaica in 1971, later settling in Thompson in 1976, where she and Winston worked hard to raise their children and beloved grandchildren Britt and Gen. She enjoyed family gatherings, travelling, shopping, leisurely walks and movies. Mom had a beautiful smile and loved to just talk and laugh. She was very loved by all who knew her. Prayers will be held Thursday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m.; and Funeral service on Friday, September 14 at 2:00 p.m.; both held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Flowers are welcome, or donations may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society. She always made me feel like I've known her all my life. She was full of laughter and love that radiated around the room where she was. She saw a fellow man and welcomed whomever wanted to know her and Winston. My son Trevor called her grandma as she made him feel so close to her and I called her mom because that's what she made me feel like. Truly a great and loving human being and will certainly be missed but her great memories will always keep popping up in our memories and thats all very good. God Bless - Posted by: Terry Rowsell (Friend of Winston and Dorothy) on: Sep 09, 2012
