  • I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, Helen. I first met Helen when I moved to Ottawa from Newfoundland in 2003. She interviewed me for a replacement social work position with the McHugh School, Royal Ottawa Hospital. You can imagine how comforting it was to meet a fellow Newfoundlander when I moved to a new city. I was even more delighted to get to know your mother during the time we worked together. She became a mentor, taking me under her wing, showing care, demonstrating leadership and, all of the while, maintaining her positive attitude. She was the epitome of a compassionate social worker and a true Newfoundlander. It was an honour to know her. I wish your families well in these difficult days. - Posted by: Ginette Clarke () on: Sep 07, 2012
