Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • My condolences to the Maclaren family. Bruce was a good friend in Winnipeg and done years later in Calgary. We many long talks of life, family and God. He struggled in some areas of his personal life but he always held the core belief that the God of his understanding would always Bruce would always find the humour in all things. He loved his family and held core values close to his heart. You will be missed my friend. Until later. - Posted by: Terry (Charlie) Marx (Old friend) on: Jan 18, 2015

  • My condolences to the family. I met Bruce in Calgary working at CP Rail, we were fellow Winnipeggers and music fans. I have many great memories hanging out with Bruce in Calgary and connected with him again on my visits back to Winnipeg. So sorry that I won't have another. Will always remember his stories and places we went together. He was a real character. Will never forget him. - Posted by: Graeme Skene (CP Rail coworker & friend) on: Sep 19, 2012

  • My condolences to the family. One of my very fond memories of Junior High was in Grade 7 Math when Bruce had a pocket full of firecrackers that went off in class. Although all of us found it pretty darn funny, our teacher didn't seem as amused. Even now, we still chuckle when someone brings up that story. Thanks for the great memory Bruce. God Bless. - Posted by: Sharon Seifert (Junior High School Friend) on: Sep 11, 2012

  • We were sad to hear of Bruce's passing. Although we did not keep in contact, Keith has fond memories of playing in the band together and Darlene has memories of skating at the Roller Rink. Our condolences to the family. - Posted by: Keith Boutet and Darlene Boutet (Lewis) (High School Friends) on: Sep 07, 2012

  • Bruce & I got especially close after his job took him to Calgary. We sometimes talked for 1-11/2 hrs at a time. Bruce loved a wide range of music. He liked the song "The Seventh Son" by Mose Allison. Browsing on Youtube he discovered this song called "My Brain". My brain is always ticking, My brain 3x My brain is always ticking, as long as I am alive and kicking, My brain, cool little cluster, my brain. My brain is always working, My brain 3x As long as you keep that coffee perking, My brain, cool little cluster, my brain. My brain is losing power, my brain 3x 1,200 neutrons every hour, My brain, cool little cluster, my brain. My brain is getting pounded, my brain 3x Pretty soon I'll be dumbfounded, My brain, cool little cluster, my brain Bruce was always able to laugh at himself. The last few years of his life were tough ones. Hope that you know that we loved you, Bruce. We'll see you in heaven one day. - Posted by: Susan & Harry dePutter (sister & brother-inlaw) on: Sep 07, 2012

  • My condolences to the McLaren family. Bruce and I were long time friends and co-workers at CP Rail. We also chummed around at Nutimik Lake in the Whiteshell. I don't even know where to begin but Bruce was a very caring, funny, witty, hard working, I could go on forever. Bruce will be sadly missed by me and alot of people. He has touched people in many ways and has left his footprint in my life and many others. You have left me now but one day we will hook up again. Friends like you only come around once in a life time. Later Buddy. - Posted by: Rick Gumienny (Best Friend & Co-worker CP Rail) on: Sep 07, 2012

  • MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY. Although Bruce and I never really hung out we would talk and joke around. Bruce fought one of the tougher kids in school and did very well. He was laughing after the fight (Cecil Rhodes). Just a great guy. God bless him. - Posted by: BARRY CRAIG (JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL FRIEND) on: Sep 06, 2012

  • I was shocked and saddened when I read this. Bruce was one of my best Nutimik friends when we were kids. Being a year younger I always looked up to him (my first boy kiss), rock climbing on blueberry hill climbing the rangers tower, building forts in the bush, swimming, laying on the bed in the trailer reading Archie comics I think they were Deb's, trying to ditch my little brothers by playing hide and go seek in the woods. Time has a way of putting distance between people. He will always have a special place in my heart and I will think of him with smiles and tears. Condolences to family & big hugs for everyone (((♥))) - Posted by: Elaine (friend from Nutimik) on: Sep 06, 2012

  • To my Winnipeg family my thoughts and prayers are with you. Bruce will be missed. Bruce had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Rest in peace my sweet cousin. - Posted by: Sandra Owens (Cousin) on: Sep 02, 2012

  • We were so shocked and sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. Bruce was very witty and at family gatherings, would be known to share some trivia he knew - he was very knowledgeable. Rest in peace, Bruce. We love you. - Uncle Gord and Aunty Pat - Posted by: Gordon and Patricia Farley (Uncle and Aunt) on: Sep 01, 2012
