It was a very sad day to hear Kody died. I am a very good friend of his Mom's and the news was so surreal. It still seems surreal today. I was unaware this was on the net. I found this just browsing through different things. Even tho it has been a while since Kody has been gone, he is still missed very much. I missed the opportunity of getting to know this young man. I met Kody once at a lunch with friends. Most of our kids were there. He was really young, but made an impression along with his sister Courtney. Life is so unbalanced sometimes. It is not fair to bury a child, but we will never understand until it is our turn to join him. RIP Kody, We are making sure your family is OK. Even tho your life was short it seemed full of love and happiness. May God bless you wherever you are and may the stars shining in the night be a reflection of you watching over all of your loved ones including friends. You may be gone out of the physical world, but you will remain in many of heart forever. - Posted by: Deb Ganney (friend of Kody's mom) on: Jan 04, 2014

I remember the one time I met u and I didn't think it would be the last. You sat beside me when I was alone and started cracking the most idiotic jokes but they put a huge smile on my face. It shouldn't have to be like that. To lose a young life that was so cherished. Ur smile and nuttiness is what made me smile and that memory forever will. I didn't know Kody at all to be honest, but one of my friends were really close to him. I ended up finding him on Facebook and reading all the heart felt comments. They truly made me cry. Its sad i didn't get to know him personally before he passed because he sounded like a really great guy. I also heard him sing on YouTube and he was an amazing singer. His voice is the most beautiful-est thing I have ever heard. I hope the best for his family and just try to remember all the good times you've had with him and keep your hearts strong. I will pray for you and wish you the best. Rest in paradise Kody Maines you be missed by many. :') - Posted by: Kaayla Paul (Stranger) on: Sep 14, 2012

I have been avoiding Facebook and the news because I still dont believe he's gone, he can't be gone. I saw him not too long ago :( The day I found out Kody passed away I called Raven because it was un real, :'( I'll miss you Kody I remember in H.S. Paul and Dakota Collegiate or anywhere, wherever he saw me and I was upset he would stop what he was doing and take his time to try to make me smile and even if I didn't want to he'd always find a way and succeed. If he made me laugh (he always did) he would go up and down waving his arms in the air saying "I made you laugh I made you laugh I made you happy". Kody always made sure everyone was smiling. He always cheered me up! He was in a lot of my classes and he always made them worth it! Omg if you had Farhan and Kody together in the class that was the best class going on! He'll always be remembered! He's one of those 1/10 that stands against bullying, he was a very genuine and kind hearted person! It's honestly heartbreaking knowing that someone I know is gone.. He was at our table for grad he made that dinner quite fun, it's so sad and it sucks he had to leave so soon, snd maybe it was for a reason the something or someone will find out in the future and why such a funny young man passed away not that far from his birthday. I could write alot more but I shouldn't. Kody, Thank you do much for being there for me when I didn't want anyone, you still stool around until I was smiling, thanks for sticking up for me when I was getting bullied at school, thanks for making school worth it and the classes fun! Thank you for making the grad dinner the best table to be at! Thank you so much for everything and thank you for being a friend, and being there when no one else was! You will be remembered, I'll miss seeing you and listing to your hilarious comments/jokes! I'm going to buy a sweater you and your team were making for your company, remember us and look out for us well need you "The good die young" May you Rest In Paradise Kody! <3 xo. Blessed wishes go to Courtney and the family <3 - Posted by: Dawna (Friend) on: Sep 10, 2012

I met Kody in grade 11. He was always so positive and happy. He always hung out with me and a few other kids during spares. He talked to us about the most random stuff imaginable. I remember he sent me a link to a song he did, I couldn't believe it was him, he sung so wonderfully. He helped me with some problems in my life and I will never forget him, he always kept a smile on my face. He treated everyone he knew with the most respect no matter how badly they treated him. It's sad to seem someone as great as him go. But he will forever be in my heart and I will never forget him, and I'm happy I was able to call him my friend. - Posted by: Kia Nedohin (Friend) on: Sep 10, 2012
