Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE ETHEL BROTHERIDGE It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Brotheridge announces that Marge passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Kildonan Personal Care Home after a long and painful illness. Marge was born March 6, 1916 in East Kildonan. She was the eldest daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel Brotheridge. She was predeceased by her four brothers Arthur, Harold, Edgar and Hugh and sister Vera; sisters-in-law Florence, Betty and Muriel and brother-in-law, Rev. John Raines. In her early days, Marge was actively involved in St. Stephens Anglican Church, particularly their Washington Avenue Mission. Marge taught Sunday School for many years and was a leader of many youth groups. Since 1960 she had been an active member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church where she was a member of the ACW. Her church was a very important part of her life and it was very difficult when she could no longer attend the services. A life member and Past Matron of Jephthah Chapter No. 22, Order of the Eastern Star, Marjorie was a Past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Manitoba, Order of the Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Grand Matron in 1967 during her Golden Chain Session . Marge loved her association with Eastern Star and was a devoted member of over 74 years. Marge was employed by Barber Ellis (later Unisource) for 42 years, retiring in 1981 as Credit Manager. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her sister Audrey and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Auntie Marge was very special to them all. She will be fondly remembered by the Raines family. Marge was very generous in all ways - quietly giving, but, never wanting acknowledgement. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, at the corner of Donald and Graham. Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made to Holy Trinity Mission Ministry. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
