Date of Passing: Sep 02, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ALICE COPPOCK August 3, 1916 - September 2, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jean Alice Coppock (nee Dodds) at the Luther Care Home. Jean leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Jackie (Delmar) Sexsmith and son Fred (Ingrid), grandchildren, Ian (Kathryn), Kathleen, Carrie, Neil, Rory, and Troy and several nieces, nephews and great-grand-children. Jean is now reunited with Edwin, her husband of 70 years, who predeceased her in March. Jean was also predeceased by her parents James and Alice, twin sister Gertie, and brothers Fred, Jim, and Bill. Jean was born in Elmwood, and lived in Winnipeg her entire life. Upon Ed's return from the war, they purchased a home in West Kildonan where they raised their family and resided for almost 60 years. Jean worked for Eaton's and The Bay but spent most of her time as a homemaker. Together, Ed and Jean enjoyed spending time with family, and gardening at their cottage in Matlock, Manitoba. The family extends its deepest gratitude to the staff of the Luther Care Home for their kindness, care, and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Luther Care Home in remembrance of Jean. Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Jean's wishes, a family graveside service will be held at a later date. "We love you, Mum. You are forever in our hearts"
