SUE JURAVSKY (nee KNELLER) Sue Juravsky passed away on September 4, 2012. She was predeceased by her parents, Lazar and Chaika Kneller, husband, Wilfred Juravsky, son, Sheldon Jury, siblings Anne Kneller, Edith Taback, and Gordon Kneller. Sue was born and raised in the north end of Winnipeg. Upon graduating from St. Johns Tech, she worked for several years prior to meeting and marrying the love of her life, Wilfred (Curly) Juravsky with whom she had four children, Sheldon, Lori, Tanis and Gary. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of owning and operating Garden City Beauty Salon, being a certified leader of Great Books of the Western World and returning to university when her children were grown and earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Sue was active in the Jewish community having been president of Chevra Mishnayes sisterhood and having held executive positions in Pioneer Women's Organization. She was involved in politics and ran as a candidate for the liberal party in 1977. Sue loved to do everything and loved everything she did. In her later years, illness hindered her mobility, but not her spirit. Her passion for life resonates in all who mourn her. The family would like to acknowledge Sue's special friends, Gerda Schell and Aejung Lim for their love and dedication to her. Funeral services were held on September 5, 2012. A private shiva is being observed with the exception of Sunday, September 9, 2012 when all are welcome at 16 Aster Ave. from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We are saddened to learn of your mother's passing, Tanis. Just know we're thinking of you in this time of sorrow. God bless. - Posted by: Jeannine Dumaine & John Campbell (Law school classmates of Tanis) on: Sep 10, 2012

  • I am sorry for the loss of your mother Tannis. She was a wonderful woman and always looked for positives. I loved when she would remember something she enjoyed and would close her eyes and smile. She had such a full life and there didn't seem to be much that she didn't enjoy. We always looked forward to visiting with her and she was so good to my mother. We will all miss her but truly the fact she is not suffering or in pain is comforting. You are such a devoted daughter and I wish you peace. I hope we will still see you, even if it is a visit to your office. Take care Marcia - Posted by: Marcia McKall (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2012
