Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATIE ISAAK (NEUFELD) 1923 - 2012 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma on Thursday, September 6, 2012. Katie is together again with her husband, Jack, who predeceased her in 2004. Mom will live forever in the hearts of her children Henry (Linda), Louise, Paul (Joan), Patricia and Susan. Grandma will be dearly missed by Lee (Tina), Jason (Sy), Justin (Mandy), Kendra, Morgan, Trevor, Andrew (Jessica), Cara, Lindsey, Court and Bobbie. Great-Grandma will also be missed by Jaxson, Trey and Kacie. Katie is also survived by her brothers Henry (Anne), Bruno (Freda), sister Olga (Morris) Rychliwski and brother-in-law Peter Suderman as well as Jack's family Jake Penner, Lee and Ike Penner, Henry and Sue Isaak, Helen Isaak and Gief and Martin Fehr. She was predeceased by her sister Elsie Suderman, sister-in-law Tina Penner and brother-in-law John Isaak. Many nieces and nephews will have cherished memories of their Aunt Katie. Born in Russia on July 15, 1923, to Heinrich and Aganetha Neufeld, Katie came to Canada as a child and grew up on the farm near Boissevain, Manitoba. Mom and Dad met at a Sangerfest in Whitewater in 1949 and married the following year. Throughout their early life together, Mom and Dad lived in several rural communities and settled in Morden in 1959. Mom's life was always centered around her home and her family. She was an extraordinary gardener, baker and cook, taking special care to grow and prepare the favourites of her children. From her cinnamon buns on Saturday mornings to the cakes that were the highlight of every birthday, Mom was always finding ways to show her love for her family and friends. Mom was a devout Christian and a deeply spiritual woman who spent many years serving her church. A tireless volunteer, Mom was always busy helping out in the community and spent more than 40 years as a member of the Morden Hospital Auxiliary. She was always generous with her time and her talents and worked hard to help wherever and whoever she could. There was no greater joy and pride for Mom than the lives and accomplishments of her children. And there were no brighter lights in her life than her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. If ever a person was born to be a grandmother it was Katie. She delighted in their company and loved to hear about their many activities and adventures. Mom was thrilled to meet our newest family member, great-granddaughter Kacie Amber, just shortly before she passed away. We will all cherish our own special times with Mom and Grandma and, while her loss leaves an unimaginable hole in our lives, we will share our memories with the same love and joy that Mom lived them. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the many caregivers who showed tremendous kindness and compassion to Mom over the past several months. And we are deeply grateful to Olga for taking such good care of Mom in the last weeks of her life. Donations in Mom's memory can be made to The Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9. Viewing will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, 1050 Thornhill St. in Morden and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Morden Mennonite Church, 363 Gilmour St. with interment at Southside Cemetery. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. I had a nice phone conversation with your mom last November when my mom passed away. I remember she always had a gentle and sweet spirit. Having lost our sister, Agnes, a month ago we can strongly sympathize with all of you. We ask for God to pour out His comfort and love on you, as you grieve, not as those without hope, for you can see her again in a much better world! We send our heartfelt condolences to all members of Katie's family. Her pies were the best things to come out of her kitchen and we were always thankful when she would send one our way for a special occasion. We were happy that she got to see her newest great-grandchild. Rest peacefully Katie. - Posted by: Nancy Paterson and Larry MacKenzie (Friends) on: Sep 08, 2012
