Bob & Ingrid: It was with deep sadness that we learned of Matt's passing. Corliss was reminding me this evening of our days back in NS when Matt was the King of Leggo. We cannot imagine how you are dealing with this but we also know your strength will come from the love and support of everyone around you. It is very obvious that Matt left his mark on so many people. All the best in this difficult time. - Posted by: Pat & Corliss McCloskey (Friend) on: Sep 14, 2012

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Matt's sudden passing. I remember the time I spent with Matt in high school. He was extremely kind hearted - always put in the extra effort, staying late after class to help others. He was an incredibly talented individual and very smart. Ingrid, Bob and Tracey - I know this is a very difficult time. I recently lost my brother-in-law and my wife was left as an only sibling. I pray peace over your family during this time. May he hold you close and lift you up. You will hear great stories of how Matt positively affected people's lives. He will be dearly missed by many. - Posted by: Stephen Gray (Highschool Friend) on: Sep 11, 2012

Dear Ingrid, Bob and Tracey, How very sad I am for your tragic loss. How fondly I remember our years as friends and neighbours and hold dear the time we shared. What a dear little boy he was. I am sure he grew up to be the same kind of young man. Little can be said to comfort a parent who has lost a child. My thoughts will be with you. I will pray for you. I know you will miss him and long for his presence. He will be with you. My deepest affection and regards are with you. Love Debbie - Posted by: Deborah Jelly (Family friend) on: Sep 11, 2012

Dear Bob, Ingrid & Tracey, It is with great sadness that we hear of your loss and we pray that somehow you and your family will find the strength and courage to get through this horrific period in your lives. We have taken out a picture of Matt & Michelle, peacefully sitting on the beach on the shores of the Bras d’Or Lakes in Cape Breton, and have lit a candle beside it to remind us of the many fond memories that our families have shared together. We love you very much, may God bless you, Steve, Lucyna, Chris & Michelle - Posted by: Steve & Lucyna Neville (Family friends) on: Sep 11, 2012
