HEATHER LAUREN LEVINE
Date of Passing: Sep 06, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHEATHER LAUREN LEVINE It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and untimely passing of Heather Lauren Levine in Burnaby, BC, on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at the age of 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Lee Goudzwaard (Burnaby); her parents, Penny Rossman and Norman Levine (Arlene); her sister, Robyn; her niece and nephew, Savanna and Riley; her in-laws, Sharon and Hans Goudzwaard (Nanoose Bay); her Zaida, Pinya Levine; her Aunts, Dale Rossman (Toronto) and Bluma Levine; her Uncle, Gary Levine; extended family and many loving friends especially Rachel Minuk and Diana Christosomo (Toronto). Heather was born in Brandon, MB on May 25, 1982. She attended Centennial School, Garden City Collegiate, and the University of Winnipeg. Heather moved to Burnaby to attend Simon Fraser University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics as well as Bachelor of Business Administration. After graduating with honours, Heather worked for the Ministry of Health and later for the Fraser Health Authority as a financial analyst. While working full time, Heather completed a four year program obtaining her Certified General Accounting designation. In 2006, Heather met the love of her life, Lee Goudzwaard. They became inseparable, marrying on September 23, 2011 in an intimate ceremony in Nanoose Bay, BC, surrounded by immediate family and friends. Their life together was full of activity and adventure that included their favourite pastime of bike trips around British Columbia and Washington State. Heather loved the thrill of new adventures and was always eager to explore unknown locations. This took her to many exciting places including Cuba, San Francisco, Oregon Coast, India, and Peru, an adventure which included a four day hike to Machu Picchu. Heather loved physical activity and the challenge of training and completing half-marathons and triathlons. Her greatest achievement was to complete a half Ironman in June, 2012. Heather was beautiful, intelligent, kind, ambitious and accomplished. Just by smiling Heather could fill a room with warmth, and brought joy to the lives of all she touched. Though by nature a shy and quiet girl, she blossomed as she grew, becoming a gorgeous, adventurous, free-spirited woman who was constantly moving forward conquering one challenge after another. If it is possible to believe in an angel on earth then Heather was the embodiment of that possibility. To those who knew and loved her, we can only hope that with time the acute pain of our loss will be replaced with the warmth of the memories of our beautiful, sweet Heather. Funeral services were held graveside at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 with Cantor Gerry Daien officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Narvey, Michael Narvey, Gary Levine, Aaron Levine, Andrew Kowall and Michael Horowitz. Donations can be made to any Childrens Hospital or organizations that benefit children.

I felt I needed to add a few more thoughts. As much as we would lke to, we have no control of our lives. That is what I found out of my own existence. My husband and I jog three times a week by the location we saw your memorial at, enroute to Burnaby Lake. We were jogging by on the day of your passing. Although we did not know you - you have touched us both, and we are so saddened and wish our condolences to your family and friends. We were touched by the beautiful words, flowers left by your friends. Perhaps we connected with your love for pushing yourself physically and love for adventures. May you find many adventures and happiness wherever your journey brings you ... may you rest in peace and happiness ... - Posted by: Michael and Doris Blanchet () on: Sep 22, 2012
