Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA CHEREWYK On Monday, September 10, 2012, surrounded by the love of her children and her St. Joseph's Residence family, Olga gently and peacefully left us to join her husband Metro. She was born on the farm in Stornoway, Saskatchewan, September 3, 1926, to George and Katie Fedorak the third of five children. She married Metro in 1949, and they had a long and happy marriage until he passed away in 2006. Mom was an accomplished seamstress and after working in a factory for a short time she worked at home creating many beautiful garments for friends, family and clients. After the family was grown she started her second career with Sears Garden City when they first opened. She was a smiling face behind the jewelry counter and made some lifelong friends there. She was a member of St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church and was a very active member of the women's league. She was honoured with a 50-year service pin and was very proud of it. Travel made some wonderful memories for many of the family. For the last five years she has been a cherished resident of St. Joseph's residence where she developed a whole new family. We all felt very welcome in her new home. Olga was Mom to Sharon and Gord, Rick and Carolyn and Myra; Baba to Darcia and Chris, Kristi and Colin, Colin and Stefanie, Liann and Blair, Alexis and Bryce, Tynan and Linzi, Brendan, Kyle and Maddie; Big Baba to Emiko, Nia, Ronin, Jack, Kate, James and Julia. Her sister Elsie and brother-in-law Harold Manders will miss her along with the rest of us. The family wants to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's and donations in Olga's memory to St. Joseph's Residence or Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers. Funeral service to be held at St Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. on Monday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. 204-586-8044

OLGA CHEREWYK September 3, 1926 - September 10, 2012 Olga, mother of Sharon, Richard and Myra, passed away peacefully at her home in St. Joseph's residence on Monday evening. She was predeceased by her husband Metro. Funeral service is Monday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church: 250 Jefferson Ave. Longer obituary to follow.
