Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJASON NEIL KRESTANOWICH "KRUSTY" 1971 - 2012 It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Jason, son, brother, uncle and friend on September 10, 2012 at Misericordia Hospital from a heart attack. He is survived by his mother Sharon, step- father Ed Futz, brother Paul (Cory) and sister Lisa (Mike) Tottle, nieces and nephews Adam, Madeline, Aaron and Colin Krestanowich, and Zachary, Samantha, and Sean Tottle, his foster son Josh, as well as his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Dennis and grandparents, Bill and Doris Krestanowich, and Ray and Claire Hastie. Jason was born on November 22, 1971 in Winnipeg, MB. He grew up in River Heights and went to school at Brock Corydon, JB Mitchell, River Heights Junior High and Kelvin High. Jason was an avid sports enthusiast from the time he was young. He played with River Heights Cardinals, Crescentwood Grizzlies, St. Boniface Warriors, Kelvin Clippers and St. Vital Mustangs. His lifelong passion was baseball, playing and managing the Fort Garry Brewers for the past 21 years. He took frequent trips with friends travelling to sports events in the US to see his Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. Starting at age 15 he spent many years as a minor hockey and baseball coach. Jason's two homes away from home were the Pemby and Palomino Club where he spent many hours with friends and family. Jason worked at Knowles Centre for many years, and from there he became a foster parent for the past nine years, touching the lives of many youth. He will be sadly missed by Josh, Ferdie, Joe and Kurtis. Jason was known as the gentle giant who loved and lived life larger than himself. Many have said that his presence and smile lit up any room. He packed more living in his 40 years than most people do in a lifetime. He lived life on his own terms and his own set of rules. He was a good man with a big heart, great soul and an inspiration to all who knew him. He was taken from us all too soon. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jason's life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1158 Grosvenor Ave. from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. All friends are welcome. In honour of Jason please wear the sports jersey of your choice. Flowers gratefully declined. Paul and Family: I am so sorry to hear about Jason. I can remember him as a boisterous 11 year old playing hockey at River Heights. Our paths crossed on occasions, usually something to do with hockey. He was funny, outgoing, proud of his work with kids and still a kid himself. He will be sorely missed. - Posted by: Barbara Fee (friend) on: Sep 20, 2012

Krusty was a very special friend to our children, Janne & Chris Fisher and his smiling face was always welcome in our home. Dear Krusty, We hadn't lived long in Winnipeg, when the phone rang and a great growling voice said,"Matt, there?" Yes, it was Krusty and it was the begining of many calls and a long friendship between Matt and Krusty on and off the baseball field. Some years later there was another call, "Is Mr.Frost there?" Yes it wwas Krusty but this time in a much more serious voice because he wanted to talk business. And then there was the call I made to Krusty to ask him to participate in Matt's funeral and carry Matt's glove and bst into the service. This time, that great growling voice answered with such kindness and compassion. Dear Krusty, I believe that there was a great reunion on that ball diamond in the sky on Monday and that you and Matt had a few reunion beers in the Heavenly Pemby. You will always be remembered by our family, Rick, Nancy, Jon and Carolyn. - Posted by: Nancy Frost (son's friend) on: Sep 15, 2012
